It was recently brought to my attention that someone at the club had expressed their own political views by placing a comment on one of the clubs commemorative plaques. Some thoughtless person put the prefix “Dis” in front of the word “Honourable” on the plaque commemorating the opening of our shades.
In of itself this was a very childish action which I was surprised to see at our club. As you will see from the attachment not only was it inappropriate at our club but it was featured very publically in an article in the Courier Mail.
Our club depends on outside support and with one silly act someone has insulted one of the club’s strong supporters in a very public way. It does not matter what you think about the ongoing turmoil in politics or what actions he has taken recently Steve Dickson has been very good to this club.
This stupidity does not belong at our club and whoever was responsible should be ashamed.
By all means have political opinions but please do not insult our club supporters and give the club a bad name.
