Buderim Bowls club is a friendly active club that focuses on the game of bowls for ladies, gentlemen, youths and children for all to enjoy. We encourage local corporate participation in the game with our Jack Attack competition and welcome social bare foot bowling.

Buderim Bowls Club is situated in beautiful, quiet surroundings on Buderim Mountain at the centre of the Sunshine Coast, within easy distance of the beaches at Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland and Maroochydore. Two excellent synthetic greens cater for men and women bowlers of all ages.

    Although the club is renowned as a bowlers' bowls club, social members are welcome to enjoy the bar facilities and all club social functions

  • The Club House

    between the two greens, provides ideal viewing of both greens. The now air-conditioned dining area and kitchen extend into a comfortable bar and lounge area. The facilities are available for hire for special occasions such as weddings and birthdays and by other community groups. They are regularly used for meetings by organisations such as the Probus Club of Buderim, Buderim Lions and National Seniors Australia - Buderim Branch.

Special General Meeting

Below is an Information Sheet to help you all understand what the Special General Meeting at the Buderim Bowls Club at 9AM on Sunday the 5th of June is for. The two items members will be asked to vote on are important for the club and its future. Please read the Information Sheet carefully so that you are aware of what the committee is proposing at this meeting. The vote will be to either accept or reject the two proposals and a 75% majority of those in attendance is required to pass the proposals. As is states in the information sheet the renovation items have been debated now for over two years with three different committees. I believe it is time to either move ahead or abandon the concept entirely as further discussion or debate will only be more of the same. It is time to decide!

5th of June 2016 Special General Meeting – Information sheet

As you are all aware planning for the refurbishment of the club has been an ongoing topic of discussion for a long time. When this was originally discussed by the committee that was first involved, they considered the club could afford to spend $150,000 on the refurbishment and all of the committees that have followed have stuck with this figure. The current committee has reviewed the club finances as they stand at the moment and still feel $150,000 is an appropriate investment. The subcommittee that was appointed to develop a list of items was given this figure as part of their terms of reference. When that list was developed and presented to the current committee we held an information meeting on 3rd of April so that members could ask questions, give an opinion and make suggestions. As a result of that meeting a revised list of jobs or mini projects was developed that still was within the $150,000 limit.
The revised list is a combination of items on the original sub-committee list, some of which were removed and some items that were suggested at the April meeting. The items that are now on the renovation list and have been approved by the management committee are;

Security Roller Door/Grille into Bar area
Acoustic Bi-fold doors between bar and dining room
Installation of acoustic doors
New internal stairwell from foyer to bar area
Floor tiling and floor preparation in foyer area

Painting, bar, dining room, locker room, cashiers room and office
New facing for front wall of bar
General Demolition and removal
Platform and safety railing on southern sliding door
Refurbish dance floor

Deck and disabled access ramp on north of Clubhouse

The committee will be asking the membership to approve the proposed expenditure at the Special General Meeting that is scheduled for 9AM on the 5th of June 2016. Please come along and support this upgrade to the club that will enhance facilities for our members and encourage outsiders and members to use the club for private functions.
The clubs new neighbour at the back of the southern green has asked to buy a 1 metre by 40 metre strip of land that runs the length of the boundary which is outside of the new fence. The land is inaccessible to us and as far as the committee can see is of no use to the club now or in the future. The neighbour has offered to pay all costs associated with the sale and based on average land prices in Buderim per square metre we can expect to get a reasonable price for the land. The committee will also be asking you to vote on this matter at the meeting on the 5th of June.
